So here is the thing. I have been following this board for a while now. And I am constantly surprised at the number of blown motors/failed injectors/other major catastrophe/minor catastrophe. Here's why. . . When I was a junior in college in 1991, I bought a brand new 1991 TT and upgraded it with a chip, pop, 17" wheels, timing advance, exhaust, etc. I flooged the absolute hell out of that car (although I took excellent car of it). Put 88,000 trouble free miles on it, and sold it for 80% of what I paid for it, in just three years. Now I bought another, and of course, suffered a blown motor almost immediately and am now mortgaging my soul for a build that should be done in Feb. (see profile). But I'm worried. Was I just insanely lucky the first time around??? My build philosophy is target a strong 10/10ths, then roll back to 8/10ths all the time. But is there a safe 8/10th's??? I mean, my first one was bulletproof. I sure hope this second one is, but I'm starting to wonder. . .
